As the winter flies by us and we greet spring, it’s about time I let you know that Cambridge Corners did indeed have dances this winter!
December 1, 2017, Dick Reuter called our Red & Green dance and we donated toys to the toy drive. Four, plus 3 extra, squares of people came. For royalty, our own Queen Kim and King Bob were joined by Friendly Twirlers’ Queen Lisa. Caller Denise Heinz was a special guest. Kevin Grygelko came with news of his upcoming mission trip to Nicaragua, which he is still on. Clubs in attendance were Friendly Twirlers and Westonka Whirlers.
Roger McNeil called our Back to the 50’s dance on January 5, 2018 for eight squares from six visiting clubs: County Line, Westonka Whirlers, Wondering Wheels, Jolly Promenaders, Friendly Twirlers, and Hotfoot Stompers. Enjoying root beer floats and great dancing were royalty, County Line King James and Queen Susie, Hotfoot Stomper Queen Rosemary and Cambridge Corners Queen Kim and King Bob. Special guests were Federation President, Michelle T., and caller Denise Heinz.
Our Crazy Hat/Dangle contest dance on February 2 was held at a different school than usual and the smaller room was packed with nearly eight squares of dancers from Hotfoot Stompers, Friendly Twirlers, Westonka Whirlers, Square and Twirl, Country Twirlers, and Dakota Grand. We all came to dance to Bryan Bush calling. Hotfoot Stompers’ Queen Rosemary graced the occasion, as did Cambridge Corners’ own royalty, Queen Kim and King Bob. Denise Heinz was our special guest, once again. We greatly appreciate all she does for our club with her excellent square dance instruction to our students.
